We love to sit on walls and stairs. But their surfaces are often dirty and cold. That’s why we invented Il Posto, a low-maintenance, comfortable seat that keeps our buttocks clean and warm. This year, we celebrate its 22nd birthday.

The seats lie on the ground like soft covers. You can create comfortable seating that invites people to stay for a while on walls and steps. Il Posto sprang from the idea of creating a product that offers a low-maintenance and pleasant seating area.

The design evokes associations with a blanket laid over a wall. The seats are curved lengthways at a radius of 38 mm and at an angle of 90°. The horizontal surface merges into the vertical surface in a gentle curve. This covers sharp and unsightly wall edges.

Sheets of HPL are used for Il Posto. HPL stands for High Pressure Laminate, a material that is made of 70% wood veneer and 30% melamine resins. It is extremely weather-resistant and UV-stable. HPL is resistant to most solvents, which means that graffiti can be removed easily. There are several colors to choose from.

An underframe of stainless steel allows easy mounting on the substructure. All elements can be replaced individually in case of damage due to vandalism.
