At Metalco, we have chosen to make Social Design for Real Life our mission. This is not just a slogan, but a concrete vision of how we approach urban furniture: a philosophy that puts the balance between environmental sustainability and people’s needs at the center. We believe in an urban development that responds to today’s needs without compromising tomorrow’s possibilities, and for this reason we work every day with a clear STILE, which has become our manifesto.

A STILE that promotes social interaction, because we believe that cities and public spaces must be welcoming and designed to foster human connection. Our VITAURBANA collections were created with exactly this purpose in mind: thanks to modular and customizable elements, it is possible to create islands of sociability where a bench becomes much more than a place to sit. Products like HARRIS ISOLA, OLYMPIA, or the AIR LAP tables give shape to spaces where people live together, share experiences, and build relationships.

Observing real life is the starting point for each of our projects. We put people at the center, studying their daily needs and the challenges of urban living. Our goal is not only to design furniture, but to create collective spaces where every individual can feel welcomed, supported, and part of a community. Inclusivity is a tangible value for us, which translates into projects capable of fostering a sense of belonging and social cohesion.

We live in a time when private space is shrinking, and the importance of public space is growing. Streets, squares, and parks are becoming places where relationships and quality of life are restored. We address this with products like the SOFA’ collection, which reimagines urban spaces as open-air living rooms.

Environmental respect is a constant, concrete commitment. We use only energy from renewable sources, thanks to more than 7,500 solar panels that allow us to reduce CO₂ emissions by 850 tons every year. But we don’t stop there: we select suppliers according to strict criteria, use recyclable materials, and work to make every stage of production more efficient and sustainable. We continually invest in research and development to find increasingly eco-friendly solutions and improve the durability, reusability, and end-of-life impact of our products.

For us, aesthetics and functionality must go hand in hand, supported by the ability to industrialize original ideas and turn them into concrete products. Our internal team, made up of experienced professionals and young talents, works to provide modular and flexible solutions that give designers full freedom of expression.

We believe in creativity that is grounded in technical expertise, know-how, and production capability. We are part of the international Agora Makers Group, specialized in urban furniture and public lighting, where our skills in working with steel, aluminum, wood, and concrete meet the most innovative technologies. With Atoms, our scientific lab, we explore new materials and processes, always with a sharp focus on sustainability.

This is our STILE: a balance between vision and practicality, between research and listening, between design and responsibility. It is the signature we bring to every urban space we help create.

And today, it takes shape in the new STILE catalogue, which we have just published.
