“Creating more livable, sustainable, and engaging cities.”
For more than 20 years, Studio One Eleven has planned and designed districts, downtowns, blocks, streetscapes, alleys, parks, and plazas by providing integrated architecture, urban design, planning, landscape architecture, and community engagement services. Our talented team of urban designers, architects, and landscape architects have a passion for community revitalization projects which often include infill architecture, public realm activation, arts-related placemaking, and creating high quality and celebrated spaces. All our work is informed by rigorous design criteria that emphasize sustainable and equitable practices to improve the quality of life for the community. Our work is driven by a robust practice of research, collaboration, and engagement with multiple stakeholders in understanding what is appropriate for a given city or district, to implement the right design interventions for the right places. We believe that our visions, plans and design interventions can also be both incremental and tactical, building on the existing assets of each place. This has enabled us to consistently create specific, unique identities for neighborhoods, helping people connect, interact, and become a truly integrated community. We also recognize that shaping the urban context is complex, multi-disciplinary work requiring partnership with progressive experts and clients to balance the economic, environmental, and social needs of city repair and revitalization.
Our Methods:
– We begin with a multidisciplinary approach to define a project brief that best fits our client’s needs, the neighbor-hood’s character and stakeholder input
– We build on the existing assets of each place or street and design context appropriate solutions that balance the needs of the community
– We embrace diversity, customizing design and engagement tools for each context and considering a variety of perspectives through design-thinking
– We are implementation-focused, and we partner with innovative collaborators that can create feasible plans and designs
– We measure and monitor the impact of our projects to better understand outcomes and how they meet the needs and goals of communities
