Terra+ Landscape Architects, situated in Cape Town, is a landscape architectural practice that operates both independently and collaboratively with other landscape architects and various disciplines. Our primary focus is to ensure that projects are environmentally responsible, resilient, and sustainable, allowing us to undertake a diverse range of projects across various scales and levels of detail design.

Founded in 2012 by Ankia Bormans, a registered Landscape Architect with over 5 years of prior experience in Cape Town firms, Terra+ has evolved into a company that prioritizes thoughtful landscape architecture. Ankia Bormans, holding an MLA from the University of Cape Town, serves as the company director and has dedicated her full-time efforts to landscape architecture.

At Terra+, our expertise in the field, coupled with collaborative efforts, enables Terra+ to address projects ranging from masterplan development, encompassing both urban and rural contexts, to intricate landscape architectural detail designs. We acknowledge the importance of grounding every project positively in its context, encompassing not only the natural environment but also the urban surroundings. While we engage in the practical aspects of projects, research remains a prominent element within the office, exploring design-based questions and challenges on an academic level. We firmly believe that a trans-disciplinary approach is key to the true success of any project.

Our dynamic team shares a collective passion for landscape architecture and the aesthetics of the surrounding environment. Projects are approached collaboratively, with each team member contributing based on their strengths and insights. People-centric design, infused with empathy, holds a significant role in every project.

Our current internal team comprises Ankia Bormans (Company Director), Penny Moir, Maria Kulikovskaya, Michael Brown, Alma Holm, and Sokkies, our office cat. Together, we bring a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and passion to every project we undertake.
