In PIR2 we aim to create places that engage, move and connect people. As spatial designers, we are committed to capturing the spirit of the site by immersing ourselves in its unique character and uncovering its needs. Whether that means listening to the whispers of the ancient oak tree, witnessing the excitement of the teenage girl eager to learn skateboarding, or recognizing the elderly longing for a welcoming spot for social connection. We believe places that evoke wonder, playfulness and excitement are good places.

PIR2 is a dedicated team of landscape architects, architects, urbanists and interior architects based in Oslo and Trondheim, Norway. With an open and team-oriented approach, we bring together diverse professional backgrounds and life experiences to foster an environment that encourages collaboration and creativity – building a strong dynamic workforce in the process.

Our work spans across a wide range of scales, from millimetres to kilometres, embracing projects of all sizes, from bustling cityscapes to tranquil rural places. One of PIR2’s core strengths is our ability to listen and adapt to the needs of clients and users while grounding our approach in solid professional expertise. We are driven by a deep curiosity to understand our surroundings and a commitment to learn continuously. By establishing a strong framework with the right conditions in the beginning stages, we lay the foundation for successful outcomes and build meaningful client relationships.

As landscape architects we strive to balance the complex needs of nature, people and the environment. Sustainability is one of our guiding principles, encompassing the reuse of materials and the integration of local resources. At PIR2 we are dedicated to ensuring that the places we design serve as habitats for native species, plants, insects and animals. Vegetation is a key element in our material palette, and we aspire to infuse our built landscapes with vibrancy, life and greenery.

We prioritize using locally sourced materials whenever possible, embracing the Norwegian saying “turning stone into gold” – transforming something ordinary into something extraordinary. By encouraging this approach, we foster innovative solutions and weave a narrative that honors the past, reflects the present and shapes the future.
