The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 in Barcelona has launched an international student competition under the theme “Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition.” The call invites students in architecture, landscape, and urban disciplines to propose time-based spatial interventions addressing political, social, and environmental transformation.

Participants will submit three richly illustrated drawings reflecting found conditions, short-term actions, and long-term visions. Projects will be judged by an international jury led by Josep Ferrando and including Tatiana Bilbao, Marianna Rentzou, Sumayya Vally, and Wtanya Chanvitan.

Key dates:
– Launch: 15 July 2025
– Submission deadline: 7 November 2025
– Results: January 2026

Prizes range from €1,000 to €5,000. Only full-time students are eligible as authors; interdisciplinary collaboration is welcome.
