The Tour tables have been installed in the outdoor courtyard of Gomarus College in Drachten as part of a project designed by Buss Ontwerp. These tables, made of UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete), combine a lightweight aesthetic with a robust structure, providing a versatile environment for lunch, outdoor study, or student relaxation throughout the year.

The design of the Tour table stands out for its balance between functionality and aesthetics. Its monoblock structure, consisting of a continuous surface with integrated benches, eliminates the need for anchors and simplifies installation. Its slim profile conveys a sense of visual lightness without compromising stability, allowing it to blend naturally into the school environment.

This project at Gomarus College highlights the importance of urban furniture in shaping dynamic educational spaces. The Tour tables not only provide a space for rest and socialization but also encourage student interaction and promote learning in an open environment.

The UHPC material used in their construction offers exceptional resistance to weather conditions and wear, ensuring durability in high-use environments. Its high density and compressive strength allow for the creation of thin forms without compromising structural solidity. Additionally, its water-repellent and anti-graffiti finish minimizes maintenance, ensuring that the tables retain their original appearance over time.

With this project, Buss Ontwerp has achieved a solution that combines innovation and functionality, adding value to the school environment through a furniture proposal that respects the aesthetics of the space and enhances the students’ daily experience.
